DPOR

You have options to meet the criteria set forth by the DPOR in becoming a licensed home inspector. You can begin by completing our DPOR approved 70 hour course. This includes the 4 days of classroom training together with one month to complete an additional 35 hours of online coursework. You would then need to partner with a Virginia licensed inspector to complete 25 supervised home inspections. You will also need to pass the National Home Inspector Exam. You can visit our Resources page for additional information that may help with your studies.

Other options for qualifying can be found on the DPOR website or see the list below.

John and Ronda are knowledgable, kind and patient instructors! I took my home inspection training with them, and I really enjoyed the course (the materials were digestible and we had plenty of (photos of) on-site building inspections). I learned a lot from them, and it was a great experience.

The course in preparation to become a Home Inspector was excellent and professional, in my opinion it is well worthwhile even for all home owners, as you learn so much about the in's and out's of your home!
