This pre-license education course is approved by the DPOR. This course will help you to meet the requirements to become a licensed home inspector. The course includes 35 contact hours and a free 3 months membership to InterNACHI for first time members. The InterNACHI membership will allow you to complete the additional 35 hours of required education online if you choose. By taking this class and completing the additional 35 hours online, you will reduce the number of your required supervised inspections from 50-25.
This course emphasizes the need for and the requirements of Home Inspectors, the ethics of the industry , procedures for inspections, the set up and operation of the inspection business, and an introduction to report writing. Also included is an introduction to the NHIE.
This course meets the Commonwealth of Virginia's requirements of 18 VAC 15-40-230, 18 VAC 15-40-240 and 18 VAC 15-40-250 of the DPOR's Home Inspector Licensing Regulations for a Virginia 35-Hour Home Inspector Pre-License Course.

With successful completion, you will receive a 35 contact hour certificate which meets the pre-licensure requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR). Once you have met all other state requirements, you will have the opportunity to receive full certification from the DPOR; allowing you to become a Home Inspector in Virginia in accordance with all state regulations.
