Course Description
This is a 35 hour pre-license education course approved by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) to meet the requirements to become a licensed home inspector. The course includes 35 contact hours and 1 month membership to InterNACHI in order to complete the additional 35 hour option of education online to receive the 70 hour certificate.
This course emphasizes the need for and the requirements of Home Inspectors, the ethics of the industry , procedures for inspections, fundamental knowledge of a home’s components, commonly found defects, the set up and operation of the inspection business, the basics to report writing. Also included is an introduction to the National Home Inspectors Examination.

This course meets the Commonwealth of Virginia's requirements of 18 VAC 15-40-230, 18 VAC 15-40-240 and 18 VAC 15-40-250 of the DPOR's Home Inspector Licensing Regulations for a Virginia 70-Hour and 35-Hour Home Inspector Pre-License Course.

Course Objectives
With successful completion, you will receive a 70 contact hour certificate which meets the pre-licensure requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR). Once you have met all other state requirements, you will have the opportunity to receive full certification from the DPOR; allowing you to become a Home Inspector in Virginia in accordance with all state regulations.
